Terms of use

Effective 31 October 2026.

These terms are the agreement between you and Daniel Denney, who runs Remain at remain.games. By playing, you agree to them. If you don't, please don't play.

1. Who can play

You must be at least 13 years old to play Remain. If you're under the age of adulthood where you live, you need a parent or guardian's permission, and they agree to these terms for you. In the European Economic Area, players under 16 (or the lower age set by their country) need a parent's consent.

2. The game

Remain is free to play, with no account. It changes often: features are added, changed or removed, matches can end early when the servers are updated, and stats can be adjusted to fix mistakes. The game may be unavailable at times, and may be discontinued. It may show ads on the site to pay for the servers.

3. Playing fairly

You agree to follow the community rules. In particular, you won't:

Security researchers acting in good faith are welcome to report problems as described in security.txt.

4. Your callsign and stats

You choose your callsign, and you're responsible for it. You allow it to be shown in matches, on results screens and on the public leaderboard. Callsigns and stats can be changed, hidden or removed at any time, for example after a report.

5. Ownership

The game, its code, art, sounds and this site belong to Daniel Denney, apart from the open-source software it's built with, which belongs to its authors and is used under its licenses (see credits). You may play, stream and record Remain, and share clips and screenshots, including for money. You may not copy the game, sell access to it, or present it as your own.

6. Ending access

Anyone who breaks these terms or the community rules can be blocked from playing, and their callsign and stats removed. You can stop playing at any time, and delete your stats from the main menu.

7. No warranty

Remain is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including that it will be uninterrupted, error-free or fit for a particular purpose, to the extent the law allows.

8. Limitation of liability

To the extent the law allows, Daniel Denney is not liable for any indirect, incidental, special or consequential damages, or for any loss of data, arising from your use of Remain, and his total liability to you for any claim is limited to US $50. Remain is free, and these limits are part of what makes that possible. Some places don't allow some of these limits, so they may not all apply to you; nothing here limits rights you have that can't be waived.

9. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Arizona, United States, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute will be brought in the state or federal courts located in Arizona, and you and Daniel Denney agree to their jurisdiction. If you live in the European Union or the United Kingdom, you also keep the protection of the mandatory consumer laws of where you live, and can bring a claim in your local courts.

10. Changes

These terms may change. The new version will be posted here with a new effective date; playing after that means you accept it. If any part of these terms can't be enforced, the rest still applies.
